As SMT Scharf we contribute to a more sustainable economy through innovative products and responsible action. We develop and distribute products that enhance the safety and well-being of people working in underground mining in environments that have historically been, and in parts of the world still are, beset with high health risks for workers. Not least thanks to our products, these workplaces have become and continue to become significantly safer and less stressful for the persons working in underground mining. We take this product responsibility very seriously and are continuously working to improve our transport and logistics solutions. Our goal is to incorporate ESG criteria even more strongly into our existing growth and acquisition strategy in the future and to implement a long-term sustainability strategy.

With the Annual Report 2021, we have published a report on our ESG activities for the first time. This not only provides information on current environmental indicators at our German production site in Hamm, but also on the positive impact of our innovative products – both on the environment and on the working conditions and health of people in underground mining.
